High School Celebrates Newest Honor Society Inductees

Joined by district administrators and members of the board of education, West Babylon Senior High School proudly celebrated its National Honor Society induction ceremony on Dec. 9. Nearly 100 students were formally welcomed into the prestigious organization, recognized for their outstanding scholarship, leadership, service and character.
The evening began with remarks from the NHS officers, who spoke about the four pillars of the National Honor Society and the responsibility that comes with membership.
This year’s honorary guest speaker was teacher Ms. Jano, who shared words of encouragement and emphasized the importance of integrity, perseverance and community service.
Senior High School Principal Steve O’Leary delivered heartfelt remarks recognizing both the students and their families. He praised the inductees for challenging themselves academically and demonstrating strong moral character, noting that these qualities will continue to guide them toward future success. He also expressed gratitude to the parents and guardians in attendance, acknowledging their years of support, late nights, busy schedules, and unwavering dedication to their children’s goals.
“As I look out at all of you, there is no doubt about your academic accomplishments,” he said. “However, I am even more impressed by your work ethic, your problem-solving abilities, and, most importantly, your commitment to holding yourselves to high moral standards. These are the qualities that will lead you toward a full, rich and happy life.”
Each inductee was called to the stage one by one to receive their certificate before the group collectively recited the National Honor Society pledge.
West Babylon Senior High School congratulates all newly inducted members and celebrates their continued commitment to excellence.
